Stickers and tags

A few years ago, I created some i Ching stickers for my journal.

They were not functional, they were mostly to decorate the notes of my readings.

I changed to glyphs with rainbow backgrounds.

I took the rainbow rectangles and printed them on

ivory card stock and painted the back black.

I wrote short words of encouragement and inspiration.

I want to use them as subject tags in my handmade books.

4 paint cut glue

Today's studio fun as painting on printer paper.
Here I used 20 lb 92 brightness regular printer paper.
Supplies are acrylic paint, old brushes, and water.
I am using freezer paper to cover my surface with
the shiny side down.
I use a paper trimmer to cut the pieces into size.
The size I chose is: 3" w x 3 1/2" l
I cut out a scalloped edge. I started using scrapbook scissors
but I find that I like random uneven scallops,
and I enjoy cutting them.

I glued the scalloped edges on, and some hearts and
images from my artwork. These are printed on glossy photo
paper. I protect them with translucent contact paper.

100 day project

I really liked having a challenge, and so for 2019 my challenge will be 100 day project.

Rules or limitations really help the project to focus and to get the work done. I am going to focus on handmade books. I will post other projects, but for 100 days I will be moving the hand made books forward.

I will work 100 days but its hard to post every day, so I will have to play with what works.

This will include a number of experiments that I want to conduct in the studio. The links to all 100 day projects will be posted here.

  1. starting tags
  2. finished tags for aliveness journal
  3. cartoon bubble
  4. painted tags

These are my inspiration. A variety of items I started, and I want to explore more.

PS : forgive me for jumping in with a project already in progress.
