Angel healing potion bottles

One of my favorite things to create is

fancy bottles with wings. 

 

The wings symbolize freedom, transcendence,

alchemy, and buoyancy. 

 

Fancy potion for beauty and awareness

 

When I see these in my journal, I am reminded to

think deeply, and deeply sense the world around me. 

 

I also create pockets to tuck in journal pages, or poems. 

 

100 day project: hands

I do a lot of artwork to honor my hands.

Drawing, calligraphy, finger touches and farmer's walks 

are the ways I work on my flexibility and

range of motion. 

 

Crooked fingers, swollen palms, I still take

joy in creativity. 

 

100 day project: markers and vellum

 Most of the things I have been doing for my 100-day project are 

warm-ups doodle, trinkets for my journal, and sketchbook ideas.

 

 

Sometimes my sketchbook is a spiral notebook, 

and other times it is lightweight paper taken from my printer.

 

 

This time I was curious how these markers perform on vellum.

100 day project: trinkets for journal

 Making flaps for my journal, I missed a few days posting.

 I make a new version of this one every so often.

 

 Are they sentient? Are they aware?

Before cutting and trimming

I'm thinking of sewing them to a substrate.

I tried using iron-transfer paper,(wating to create felt charms) which I have used in the past but the same fabric, same iron, same felt doesn't work.

Oh well, I have another idea.

I was inspired to paint the brown flowers by my watercolor box. 

I was running out of my favorite colors orange and red 

(cool and warm). The brown that came with the set reminds

me of old brown walnut ink with warm undertones.

The black is dark and inky and shiny when undiluted. 

I'll be making these for a while.

19 more folk art

Every year I like to attend this painting convention in Las Vegas. I have missed it for the past few years for various reasons (health and money), (time and space).

I love folk art painting, cut paper, tole, and fraktur. At this convention, I get to see all the new paints products and mediums.

I may not get a chance to attend this year, so while I was thinking about it at my drawing table, there were some birds I cut out with a yellow ombre paper, and some arrows I cut out with some of my painted papers.

It's hard to see, but I attacked the cut-outs with chalk, colored pencils and a white pen.

Leftover hearts from the Valentine project were not spared.

 I really don't want to clean my table 

there is so much inspiration there.
